Midcentury Coffee Table at CASABAN

I saw this table at Casaban in Brooklyn some time ago. This is a delightful shop located right the middle of residential Bed-Stuy.

The coffee table was already sold by the time I got to it, but that did not stop me from fantasizing about all the beaufiful collectibles I would put on display. Evidently, the piece was sourced in California where the original owners were likely to have filled it up with sand or river rocks. Somehow, I can picture this very easily. It's very North by Northwest.

Womb Chair in Situ

The Womb Chair and Ottoman together has to be one of the most inviting seats in the pantheon of mid-century modern classics.  It's equally at home in a nursery, home library, or corporate space.

Chilewich Tabletop - Cubic

These Chilewich placemats scream with modernity, yet I would be tempted to top them with traditional bone china and heirloom silver.  Can we mix styles on a tabletop as we would in a room to create an eclectic dining table?  My guess is that the placemat would bring levity to the traditional pieces, while they would bring warmth to its striking design.

Eames LCW Chairs: In Conversation

If it's possible for a chair's form to evoke personality and character, than the Eames LCW takes the prize.  The two pictured here actually seem to be in conversation with one another.
